Game Loop Opengl Or Directx

I'm working on a few game dev tools which use opengl or directx to render 3d models (viewing). consider your favorite 3d modeling software package (softimage, maya, 3ds max, modo, etc.). note that the 3d viewport does not sit in a constant render loop pegged at max fps.. Directx vs opengl vs vulkan api which is better overall?:- a gamer plays a game well, but game development appears a tricky thing to them because of so many things in it. when it comes to development for consoles, developers have single hardware for a particular brand (playstation, nintendo, xbox, etc): single processor, single graphics card, a particular or same memory, same control input.

At the same time, directx offers features that neither opengl, nor sdl can give you. opengl is way behind directx. [ opengl 3.0 is nothing more than an incremental update, the api hasn't changed much since 2.x ]. so if you are planning to write a game for windows, just use "directx", if not "opengl" and "sdl".. Talking in context of a game based on opengl renderer : let's assume there are two threads : updates the game logic and physics etc. for the in game objects. makes opengl draw calls for each game object based on data in the game objects (that thread 1 keeps updating).
